Start with what happened, not what trade you think you need. Here’s how it actually works.
Post it: a photo, a video, or just a few words is enough. Flare pushes it out to nearby people who’ve dealt with that kind of thing before — you’re not the one searching. Whoever’s actually available says so, and you decide whether to continue with them privately. Choosing someone doesn’t lock anything in, and you can still change your mind, or pick someone else, before you agree on price and timing.
Nobody’s said they can help yet? The problem just stays open. Add a clearer photo or more detail with Add an update, or if you’ve sorted it yourself in the meantime, close it as “solved another way.” You can close or reopen it whenever you want.
Tell Flare what you can help with on the what can you help with page, then turn on “Taking jobs.” Problems that fit get pushed to your Problems for you feed instead of you having to go find them. Say “I can take this job,” no diagnosis required first. If the customer picks someone else, that’s just how it goes sometimes, not a rejection.
Flare isn’t an emergency service. Gas, fire, flooding, live electrical: call emergency services or your utility first, then post here. More on Safety.
Hit Report on the response, message, or profile. Nothing specific to point at, or it’s bigger than one thing? Report something else works without one. A real person looks at every report either way. We don’t have automated moderation yet, so this is how it gets seen.
We’ll have a proper support contact live before we open up more widely. Until then, Report is the fastest way to flag anything urgent.
